Russell Knox Teams Up With Basic Golf

We’re really excited to have Russell Knox on board with Basic Golf. He’s had an exciting career so far and is currently playing on the Hooters Tour. Here is some background on Russell and some of his achievements:

- Spent his first 18 years in Scotland before coming to the US to attend Jacksonville University on a 4yr scholarship.

In College:
- Won the 2004 GEICO Direct Invitational
- 2nd Place (after playoff) at the 2006 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship (tied the scoring record at 13 under par)
- 2006 Honorable Mention All American

As a Professional:
- Won the 2007 Pre Qualifier for PGA Q-School at Cypresswood Texas - 66, 65, 66, 70 (21 under)
- 2 top 3 and 4 top 10 finishes (in the money) in 2008 on the Hooters Tour in 10 out of 12 events.
- Will be attending the PGA Qualifying School in October.

Basic Golf Teams Up With Golf Channel Amateur Tour

Basic Golf has signed on as an Official Promoter of the Golf Channel Amateur Tour and will be supplying the shirts and hats for the 2008 Seattle National Team! We’re very excited to be involved with the Seattle Tour and Director Frank Fauls. Frank will be taking his team to Orlando October 8th through the 18th for the Golf Channel Amateur Tour’s Championship Week. We’re proud to be working with such a great organization and wish Frank and his team the best of luck in October!

Hilburn Wins 2008 IPT Pine Dunes Open

Congratulations to Scott Hilburn for winning the 2008 International Players Tour Pine Dunes Open! Scott finished with a 1 under 71 to take home a check for $1,125!

Scott was wearing a Basic Golf Wasabi green ClassicCool shirt during his round. Here’s what he had to say about it:

“The ozone hole was over Texas last weekend and the temperatures soared to 104+ degrees. With no wind blowing, lets just say it was hot and humid in the piney woods of East Texas. This was the first time I had worn my Basic Golf shirt in an International Players Tour Tournament and I was impressed to say the least. Curtis Crabtree Wins 2008 IPT E. Texas Region Championship

Congratulations to Curtis Crabtree, the winner of the International Players Tour’s 2008 E. Texas Region Championship! Curtis shot a 68/71 for a 2 day total 139 to secure the win and a take home total of $8243.75!

My closet contains an assortment of shirts that I have bought while living in Michigan and in Florida. But it wasn’t until I had been living in Florida for awhile, that I realized that the majority of my shirts were horrible in the heat and humidity! It didn’t take me long to find a solution, however. Basic Golf at the AAC and Tacoma Golf Show

Just a reminder, Basic Golf is the Official Shirt Sponsor of the Greater Jackson Michigan Classic golf tournament this week at the Arbor Hills Golf Club July 9th through the 12th!

About The GJMC

The Annual Greater Jackson Michigan Classic Golf Tournament will be hosted exclusively at the challenging and beautiful Arbor Hills Golf Club from July 9-12, 2008. The 2008 GJMC will be a 54-hole tournament with a cut after 36 holes. It will be played at Arbor Hills Golf Club Thursday through Saturday, July 10, 11, and 12th. The participating golfers will be talented, entertaining, and will consist of some future PGA Tour Professionals and Amateur stars! These players will be coming from all across the country to compete for the $10,000* 1st Place check, as well as, Arbor Hills Gift Certificates to the leading Amateurs. Most importantly, they will be vying to be the first champion to hoist the Greater Jackson Michigan Classic Trophy!
